Sarsaparilla

Has anyone else ever tried wild sarsaparilla berries? They taste like old fashioned root beer!

    Sarsaparilla was the original root beer! It was deemed carcinogenic and banned by the US government so that's why root beer today doesn't use sarsaparilla.

    The grow all over in the bush at my farm. I live in the northeast part of Saskatchewan in Canada

    Lots of berries I've been taught by my elders what to eat or not. If I'm not sure, I use Google Lens and then do more research about if it has poisonous look alikes. If I'm not 100% sure what it is, I don't eat it
