History of Parkinson's

Parkinson's disease was first described in 1817 by English physician James Parkinson in his essay "An Essay on the Shaking Palsy," where he detailed the symptoms of what he called "shaking palsy". However, references to symptoms resembling Parkinson's disease can be found in ancient medical texts, including those from Ayurveda and writings by the physician Galen. The term "Parkinson's disease" was later popularized by French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot in the 19th century. Since then, significant advancements have been made in understanding and treating the disease, although a cure remains elusive.
