I posted the first photo earlier and asked if you could tell what I'd be doing today.

 

The second photo shows you.  

 

I took cuttings from my big snake plant and have put them in soil to propagate new plants.  It takes a long time, but each of those pieces has the capability to make a whole new one.

 

I think I ended up with 42 cuttings! Not all of them will make it, but I will be happy with what I get.

    Is this method faster than the water method? But anyways, what beautiful plants may you have in the future!

    Honestly, its a toss-up.  The water method will give you roots faster, but they're not as strong because the roots are acclimated to water, and don't adjust to dirt  well later.

I might do some of each.

    Close.  It's snake plant (sanseveria?), not sure of spelling.

    They are handsome plants to have. Unfortunately, I have an indoor cat, and I've heard they are poisonous to cats.

    Oh no really?? I love snake plants but I hope my kitten doesn't want to attack them.
