I like catching tag sales in general in the summer but the best ones are the town wide ones, which is the last couple of weeks in August up to labor day weekend. Unfortunate very little money and no car this year. The other is the big eastern states fair. It's a huge country fair every year for 17 days with the works including live concerts with local and renowned groups almost every night. I have worked it for the last 8 years.

I don't usually go to any, but my town does have a few music festivals and street fairs. Nothing really big. Last year my kids and I went on a roadtrip and one stop was in Alabama. When I asked if they had any suggestions of things to do (we were driving through on a weekday) they said really just football in season and fairs on the weekends.
