I am sitting here waiting for a student who is late. It is very frustrating because I could be helping someone else but it is too late to get a new booking now. What makes it worse is that I only get paid for the first 10 minutes if they do not show up. ๐

I was a self employed tutor for 35 years. It is maddening when students bail on you. I never had the guts to ask for up front payment but I have colleagues who did. I also have colleagues who would drop students who canceled last minute too many times. That's what I did eventually. It seems you don't have that option working for someone else. I'm sorry.ย
