Freshly roasted coffee

Had anybody here tried roasting their own coffee beans?

I do this every now and again. It's a bit time consuming, but pretty easy and the coffee is THE BEST.

Freshly roasted coffee is on a whole other level. It's amazing.

    I haven't tried roasting. I'm using instant coffee 😅

Fresh home roasted coffee is pretty much the opposite of instant. :)

The smell of roasting coffee is odd. It doesn't smell as you would expect it to.

However, once it is done and the beans are ground - HOLY MOLY does it smell amazing.

I love coffee and just upgraded my brewer to, still a beginner brewer, brevill EX, and trying to get a hang of making some decent espresso and Latta art.

I've never used my freshly roasted stuff for iced coffee. I'll have to give it a go sometime.

It never occurred to me to try this, but it's right up my alley. I love DIY in the kitchen. Thanks!

I've never tried this,  but I'm a huge coffee drinker/lover so it's something I'll have to try.

One more tip. Unless you have a real roaster, you'll probably want to do this outside. It generates a lot of smoke.

I tried roasting indoors once. Big mistake.

Luckily, it was at a friend's house and not at mine.

I roast my beans in an old popcorn air popper.

It's a cheap way to get into home roasting and sounds pretty cool when you tell people about it.

One warning, if you decide to try this - make sure your popper blows the air in from the sides, not the bottom, otherwise you risk it getting clogged and becoming a fire hazard.

If you do decide to give this a try, may I suggest some Ethiopian beans? I've had nothing but good experience with any Ethiopian beans that I've roasted.
