I completely agree.
The newer version with Jane Foxx is all right, but for me, the 1982 version with Aileen Quinn. Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, Bernadette Peters and others who I am forgetting, will never be topped. This is the one you need to see.

I love the musical! I have seen the recent live one on TV with Harry Connick Jr, the Carol Burnett one, and more recently, the Broadway touring production that came through my town. I've enjoyed every single one.
