Happy & Peanut - Mingle with CashWalk event #10

My niece got 2 baby dogs that her boy friend gave her about 18 years ago. She named male dog Happy and female Peanut. I'm going to share some stories about them here. You might have some stories to share with us as well. Right?

When they were puppies, they were almost the sane size, happy was white and peanut was brown.

As they grow old, Happy became twice as much bigger than Peanut. It seemed Peanut was more likeable.

Happy and Peanut both enjoyed each other. They both were caring for each other, no more, no less.

Then, Peanut happened to have some sort of cancer. As time goes by, the tumor became noticeably big on her belly.

In the final years, Peanut also had her vision getting blurry. However, Peanut knew how to get around, it was because the familiar environment that made things easy.

Finally, it has been about 4 or 5 years since Peanut died. My nephew never showed his affection for puppies. He always chased them away. However, upon Peanut's death, he became very depressed. What a emotional affect of a pet on our lives!

For the recent few years, Happy has been alone left behind since Peanut died. Lately, it is unable to walk and run properly. It is getting thinner as compared to a year ago. Its problem is since it was with a family of four all his life, having someone with it at all times, it can't be left alone at home. It barks until some one comes home. There has been a complaint of him barking numerous times from neighbors when left alone.

One beauty I'd noticed some years ago was both Happy and Peanut were always by the main entrance of the apartment unit until their "mom" comes home from outing, even if someone else is home with them. Now that Peanut's gone, Happy is being carried by "mom" all the time indoor and outdoor.
