My pond

I'm putting this in the pets feed because there are fish in this little pond. You probably can't see them, so take my word for it lol ๐Ÿ˜† We set up this little pond mainly to grow duckweed and water hyacinth, both of which will be food for our ducks ๐Ÿฆ†โค We're thinking of trying to grow watercress in it, too (that'll be food for we humans). My pond

Thanks! The fish are called "mosquito fish" because they eat mosquito larvae in the water! They're little and grey, nothing too visually exciting, but they keep mosquitoes from being a problem and they help the plants grow ๐Ÿ’š

If you check YouTube for stuff like "backyard ponds" or "patio ponds" you'll find all sorts of videos (I'll have to make one eventually lol). This one is just using a foldable kiddie pool from Amazon.

They're called "mosquito fish"! They're native to North America but invasive in other parts of the world. They're sold often for ponds to keep them from becoming a mosquito breeding ground (because they eat the mosquito larvae).

Do you find random wild animals gathered around?

I haven't actually seen them visiting the pond, but there are a few cats that hang out in the yard sometimes, at least one groundhog living under a tree stump, and just today I saw a few deer in the yard. I've seen and heard frogs nearby, but not actually in the pond.
