Block parties

I miss the days when you hear music playing out in the street, assuming you brought something to share, it meant automatic block party! So much great food and music, and you actually got to meet and know your neighbors!

You must be for my generation then! I'm 62. Where I grew up until I was 9 years old, Wooster, Ohio, we actually had them. I don't remember much but I do remember having them and enjoying getting to know people and yes we shared food. That would be a great thing today if one could be organized.

Yes, I am. I'm 64. I tried once when my kids were young, me and one other family, plus we got a friend to DJ and a small band to stop by. Other neighbors in the apartment building, even though we said they can come on down and enjoyed, just watched us as if we lost our minds

Towns around PA had carnivals.  They were so different back then.  Now it is like a big flea market with every home business setting up a table.

You're right! Times have really changed. I remember loving those block parties or mini carnivals in the neighborhood. They were so much fun!

Debbie Thomas, that's too bad.  Seeing people enjoy a good time really brings happiness to my heart. I can't believe people would look at you like you are nuts for just enjoying neighbors, music, and a good time. They don't know what they're missing!
