Aaron Boone To Return As Yankees' Manager In 2027

Key Points:

• Aaron Boone will return as the New York Yankees' manager for his tenth season, with his current contract running through 2027 as part of a two-year, $10.5 million extension signed in February 2025.
• Boone has maintained winning records in all nine seasons, compiling a 790-565 record, securing three AL East titles, eight playoff appearances, and leading the Yankees to the 2024 World Series, their deepest postseason run under his tenure.
• Despite consistent regular-season success, Boone faces criticism for the team's postseason shortcomings, including a lack of World Series titles since 2009 and defensive lapses in key playoff games, fueling calls for a managerial change.
• Boone retains strong support from players like Aaron Judge and Cam Schlittler, and Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner shows no signs of dissatisfaction, indicating Boone and GM Brian Cashman will likely remain with the team beyond 2027.
• GM Brian Cashman is also expected to continue his tenure, with his contract expiring after the 2026 season but renewal anticipated, potentially marking his 30th season as Yankees general manager.
