Boston Sports Journal • • sports
Key Points:
- A Pro Personnel Director believes the Patriots, if healthy, can compete with and beat any team in the AFC, noting no team is significantly superior in the conference.
- Concerns were raised about other AFC teams: Buffalo’s defense, Kansas City’s receiver issues and undrafted left tackle, Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson’s injury and defensive struggles, and Cincinnati and Pittsburgh’s lack of competitiveness.
- Cleveland’s defense and young receivers are strong, but questions remain about their quarterback's consistency, while Jacksonville’s aggressive offense impressed, though their defense might lack playmakers.
- The Patriots are seen as one of the top AFC teams, especially if their quarterback maintains his current performance level.
- An NFC Front Office Executive described the AFC as wide open, with multiple teams, including Houston at 2-5, still in contention to win the conference.
