Heat Your Garage During Cold Months With A Wi-Fi Enabled Solution From Home Depot
House Digest • • technology
Key Points:
- The HEAT STORM 6000-watt garage heater is a ceiling-mounted, Wi-Fi-enabled heater available at Home Depot for just under $400, designed to heat garages without taking up floor space.
- It produces around 20,000 BTUs, claimed to heat up to a 1,000-square-foot area, and offers remote control via phone for turning on/off, temperature adjustments, and scheduling.
- Users generally praise its easy installation, quiet operation, and fast heating, though some report it may be underpowered or have a weak fan for larger or poorly insulated garages.
- Proper setup is crucial: the garage should be well insulated and sealed, and the heater requires a hardwired 240-volt connection, necessitating professional electrician installation, which adds to the cost.
- Heater placement on the ceiling must ensure good airflow and no obstructions to maximize heating efficiency and avoid common space heater mistakes.
