IGN • • technology
Key Points:
- At the end of Modern Warfare 4’s campaign, Captain Price is shown gravely wounded after killing The Archer, with a mid-credits scene implying he may be dead, but his fate is left ambiguous.
- Infinity Ward’s narrative director, Jeff Negus, stated that character deaths in the game are paced carefully and the scene with Price is consistent with those, but he did not confirm definitively if Price is dead.
- Several major characters, including Makarov, Gabriela, Graves, and Gaz, meet conclusive deaths in the game, suggesting the story aims to provide closure, possibly including Price’s fate.
- While Price’s death would provide a fitting end to the Modern Warfare reboot saga, the possibility remains open for his return if future titles are developed, given the franchise’s history of reviving characters.
- The article’s author believes Price is likely dead, having completed his hero’s journey, but invites players to share their opinions on his fate.
