My iPhone 18 Pro Max just got delivered and I immediately regret the purchase - and I think iPhone Duo is to blame
Tom's Guide • • technology
Key Points:
- The iPhone 18 Pro Max is popular with delivery estimates of two to three weeks, but its demand pales compared to the iPhone Duo, which saw delivery pushed to 2027 after just one hour of pre-orders.
- The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers technical improvements like the A20 Pro chip, longer battery life, and faster charging, but these upgrades feel incremental and fail to excite users seeking a significant change.
- The iPhone Duo introduces a new foldable design with a large tablet-sized display, titanium build, and an under-display camera, offering a novel experience that Apple users have not seen before.
- Apple's foldable iPhone Duo requires users to adapt to new software features like a side taskbar, distinguishing it from existing Android foldables and making it a unique device in the market.
- While the iPhone 18 Pro Max feels like a minor update, the iPhone Duo has generated genuine excitement due to its innovative form factor, although it remains uncertain if this enthusiasm will last with future foldable releases.
