iOS 27.2 just upgraded Apple Photos in two ways, here’s what’s new
9to5Mac • • technology
Key Points:
- iOS 27.2 introduces four new features for Shared Albums in Apple Photos, including the ability to edit captions and comments, prevent duplicate photos, and receive reminders before albums expire.
- Users must upgrade their Shared Albums to iOS 27 to access these new functionalities.
- The update adds support for SynthID watermarking, a digital watermarking system developed by Google, to identify AI-generated or AI-modified photos within the Photos app and Image Playground.
- SynthID watermarks are invisible to users but can be detected by those verifying the authenticity of images, helping to address concerns about AI-altered content.
