New movies to watch this weekend: See 'Godzilla Minus Zero' and 'Wild Horse Nine' in theaters, rent or buy 'Resident Evil,' stream 'Carolina Caroline' on Netflix

Key Points:

• In theaters this week, "Godzilla Minus Zero," the R-rated sequel to "Godzilla Minus One," offers intense action and explores post-war trauma but may feel slow during its human drama scenes; "Wild Horse Nine," a darkly humorous CIA drama starring Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich, garners positive reviews for its witty dialogue and historical context; and "I Play Rocky," featuring a standout performance as Sylvester Stallone, depicts the actor's struggle to land the iconic role in "Rocky."
• Newly available to rent or buy is Zach Cregger's "Resident Evil," praised for its faithful adaptation of the video game’s survival horror elements and strong lead performance by Austin Abrams, as well as "Primetime," a darkly comedic film about the making of "To Catch a Predator," featuring a compelling Robert Pattinson portrayal of Chris Hansen.
• Streaming on Netflix, "Carolina Caroline" is a crime romance highlighting strong performances by Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner, while Hulu offers "Super Troopers 3," a comedy sequel that improves on its predecessor but still relies on broad humor.
• Additional notable streaming releases include "The Uprising" on Peacock, a politically charged historical action film about the 1381 Peasants' Revolt; "Motor City" on AMC+, a stylized but criticized slow-paced action movie; and "Making Marie Antoinette" on Mubi, a personal documentary about Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film, featuring rare family footage and insights.
