One, GTA 6 Is Officially Rated M for Mature

Key Points:

• GTA 6 has received an M for Mature rating from the ESRB, indicating the game will include blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol.
• The UK’s PEGI has similarly rated the game as PEGI 18, and more detailed ESRB content breakdowns are expected to reveal specific story elements and gameplay mechanics related to the mature content.
• Rockstar has a history of controversy regarding sexual content in GTA games, with previous titles featuring interactions with sex workers and hidden adult content, but the exact nature of GTA 6’s sexual content beyond strip club visits remains unclear.
• The ESRB rating mentions in-game purchases, though Rockstar stated there are "no monetizations" within the main game, likely referring to optional upgrades like the Ultimate Edition; the online mode, expected to launch later, is rumored to include microtransactions similar to GTA Online.
• With less than 50 days until release, Rockstar is actively promoting GTA 6, including a $400 collector’s set that sparked controversy for not including the game itself, while the online mode is speculated to debut in 2027.
