Sources - Eagles turn to Joe Milton as starting QB vs. Giants - ESPN
ESPN • • sports
Key Points:
- The Philadelphia Eagles will start Joe Milton at quarterback against the New York Giants, marking their third different starter this season after replacing Tanner McKee.
- This decision reverses coach Nick Sirianni's earlier statement that McKee would remain the starter, as Milton was signed from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad following Jalen Hurts' placement on injured reserve.
- Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to multiple blood clots in his lungs, leading to Milton's elevation as the starting quarterback.
- Milton, who was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2024 and traded to Dallas in 2025, has limited NFL experience, having appeared in four games as Dak Prescott's backup last season.
- The Eagles, currently 2-6 and on a six-game losing streak, are last in the NFC East, with McKee having completed 63.2% of his passes over the past three games.
