The Daily Beast • • nation
Key Points:
- President Donald Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with Fox News, accusing the network of favoring Democrats and not adequately supporting Republicans or MAGA viewpoints ahead of the midterm elections.
- Trump urged his supporters to watch Right Side Broadcast News (RSBN), a far-right media outlet known for airing his speeches in full, as an alternative to Fox News.
- The president has publicly criticized Fox News multiple times this year for its coverage choices, including its reporting on his Iran war plans, the firing of Maria Bartiromo, and its perceived overemphasis on Democratic candidates.
- Trump warns that if Fox News continues to prioritize Democratic perspectives and underrepresent pro-Republican coverage, it risks losing viewership to rivals and becoming akin to "fake news" networks like CNN or MSNBC.
- The tensions highlight a significant rift between Trump and Fox News, a network that played a key role in his electoral victories but now faces his public rebuke and potential loss of support from his base.
