Trump Sucks Up to Putin After Major Humiliation

Key Points:

• Former President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling him difficult to deal with and blaming him for destroying Ukraine, while expressing a preference for dealing with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
• Recent revelations indicate that the White House ordered restrictions on Ukraine’s access to critical frontline communications systems provided by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, straining U.S.-Ukraine relations amid ongoing conflict.
• Zelensky accused Trump of siding with Putin out of admiration for authoritarian leaders and condemned U.S. pressure on Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, which Zelensky later resumed after Russian violations.
• The tensions coincide with Trump’s recent deal to import Russian diesel and his calls for Zelensky’s removal, moves that have sparked global outrage and complicated U.S. support for Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.
• The disruption of U.S. military intelligence and satellite services to Ukraine remains contentious, with conflicting accounts from Trump’s officials and Musk, who confirmed that the U.S. government controls the satellite network used by Ukraine.
