Key Points:
- XREAL has announced the pricing for its first Android XR glasses, the XREAL Aura, starting at $1,279 for the base 12GB/256GB model, with a higher-end 16GB/512GB version priced at $1,499.
- The XREAL Aura glasses feature a see-through display that overlays digital content onto the real world without using cameras, offering an experience between traditional VR headsets and futuristic smart glasses.
- The glasses include a puck containing the battery, processing power, and Android XR platform, representing a significant upgrade over previous models that relied on USB-C devices for content display.
- Pre-orders for the XREAL Aura will open later this month with a $199 priority deposit required, and initial deliveries are expected before the holiday season, followed by a second wave in early 2027.
- This launch aligns with broader industry moves, including Samsung's reported plans to release its first Android XR glasses with a color display by late 2027.
