Key Points:
- Microsoft announced a completely rebuilt Windows Search coming to all PCs later this year, featuring faster results and thousands of quick actions accessible directly from the taskbar.
- The new Search interface uses a vertical panel with a search box at the bottom and results stacked above, clearly labeled to indicate the type of content such as system settings, files, or Control Panel items.
- Users can now perform actions like adjusting microphone volume, switching to dark mode, or enabling Do Not Disturb directly within Search results, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple settings menus.
- Additional capabilities include taking screenshots, arranging open windows, and even sending text messages from the Search panel, allowing users to communicate without needing to access their phone.
- Bing search suggestions remain integrated, appearing beneath local search results to provide web-based information alongside on-device content.
