Key Points:
- Tampa Bay Rays' Yandy Diaz confidently predicted the Rays will eliminate the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 of the AL Championship Series on Monday night at Tropicana Field.
- The Rays currently lead the best-of-seven series 3-2, with Game 6 set for 8:08 p.m., and have the chance to clinch the series with a win in either Game 6 or a potential Game 7.
- Diaz has been a key offensive contributor recently, going 5 for 10 with a homer and two RBIs in the last two Rays wins, after a slower start in the first three games.
- The Guardians initially pitched Diaz well, but he has found success against them late in the series; he emphasizes focusing on getting on base rather than just hits.
- Diaz was originally signed and developed by the Guardians after defecting from Cuba but was traded to the Rays in 2018, making his postseason performance against his former team notable.
