Keto and crohns

I am interested in the keto diet as I have heard that you can lose excess weight with it, but I do wonder how it might affect my Crohn's disease. Does anyone have any experience of this, at the moment by Crohns is very settled and the consultant was very pleased with me but I would really like to consider the keto diet?

Please consult your doctor if even considering trying and not advice on an app people are commenting on to get a rewards. If your crohns is settled I personally wouldn't try keto.If you want to lose weight try safely intermittent fasting, starting with 12/12 to ease yourself in.I currently do 16/8 so I eat in an 8 hour window every day. After 12 hrs body naturally goes into ketosis for 4 hours until u eat again in the next 8 hour window.Again before even considering that I STRONGLY advise to discuss it with your doctor before anything new.Good luck👍

The keto diet can affect Crohn's disease differently for everyone. Some people with Crohn's have found that the keto diet helps reduce inflammation and improve their symptoms, while others might experience flare-ups due to the high-fat content. Since your Crohn's is currently well-managed, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor before starting the keto diet to make sure it's safe for you and to keep an eye on any changes.
