Keto diet

I need to loose some weight for this summer. I'm gonna try do the keto diet where you can't eat sugars and potatoes. I'm not sure if it will work and when I'll be able to see the first bit of progress. Did you ever do this and did it work?? Also I love potatoes what can I eat instead of them. I think I'll be able to manage without sugar.

The keto diet is about giving up on carbohydrates. Basically you are replacing it with proteins and fat. you will lose weight but not sure how long it will last. My friends lost a lot but have gained it all back. I think the best is what watch your food portion, make better choice in food and get active.. good luck

Unfortunately potatoes have to be given up with the keto diet. You should have about 10% cards 20% protein and 70% fat in keto. What you could do is a keto cycling diet which allows 2 high carbon days for your diet but this is a more advanced keto diet.

Not really sure what you could try instead of potatoes... maybe some sort of beans can have a similar texture

Your weight will tend to yo-yo when you're depriving yourself of food you enjoy.  If you really love potatoes, I suggest eat them in moderation.   I've found the best way to maintain a healthy weight is to be in tune with your body - eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full.

I second this. Any non-starchy veggies like zucchini & bell peppers would replace well. Avocados also do well.
