    Good question. My top number is what went wonky on me a couple years ago.  My GP was not taking no for an answer when I hesitated on accepting a prescription to control it.

    L'ipertensione (nota anche come pressione alta) è uno stato patologico in cui i livelli di pressione arteriosa a riposo risultano costantemente superiori alla norma.In termini numerici, una persona soffre di ipertensione (cioè è ipertesa), quando:

    La pressione arteriosa massima (o pressione sistolica) supera “costantemente” il valore di 140 mm/Hg.
    La pressione arteriosa minima (o pressione diastolica) supera “costantemente” il valore di 90 mm/Hg;

      Over the years research has found both #s are equally important in monitoring the heart health. However most studies show a greater risk of stroke and heart disease related  numbers systolic pressure compared with elevated diastolic pressure.
