Excess sugar mostly likely causes weight gain, increasing insulin resistance and makes the body hold onto sodium.

Too much salt makes your body try to balance it out by holding onto water causing increased volume in the blood. Increased volume, higher pressure.

Both should be reduced as sugar could raise cholesterol and salt sodium.

Due to sodium content in salt, it can increase high blood pressure

Not directly, but you need a balance of both salt and water.

Salt intake does not affect blood sugar. But limiting salt may help prevent or control high blood pressure and heart disease.

(QnA 2) Salt can raise blood pressure by making your body hold onto water. Too much sugar can also increase blood pressure by causing weight gain.
