How to know if you have high blood pressure?

The best way is to take the pressure. I get a headache but I also get headaches with normal bp.

A lot of times people don't even know they have high blood pressure! But if it's severe or if you have symptoms, they usually end up being these: anxiety, headaches, shortness of breath, chest pain or pain in your torso, nausea, just the while shebang... Sometimes you can even get nosebleeds >_< usually that's like, a blood pressure over 180/120 though. Definitely get annual checks!

I agree with Eaemt. I think it can be commonly unnoticed. But if it gets severe you can start to feel terrible. Nausea, chest pains, shortness of breath, to name a few. This happened to my father this weekend and we took him to the hospital because he believed he had or was having heart attack(s) . He was extremely nauseous, couldn't hold anything down and terrible chest pains. 
Come to find out , his blood pressure was ranging from 220/76 to 195/90
It's confusing because the 2 sets of numbers can both go up and down but the first number was the one we were concerned about for this particular visit to the doctor. But it truly can be unnoticeable.. especially when it's not an instant/extreme change, I believe. I'm no doctor but sure glad we took him to one!

Sometimes a person can feel faint or it can manifest as anxiety or panic but a lot of times a person can live normally and it go unnoticed so regular checks are important.

I know that my mom experienced increased heart rate, sweating, and sometimes headaches as well as dehydration from the sweating. These would be some of the physical symptoms indicating someone has high blood pressure.

I discovered that I have high blood pressure from a dentist visit. I was very surprised and was unaware of possible symptoms I have had could be related to it. So sometimes when I'm at Shoppers Drug Mart I get a reading. Or you can buy one for home use to monitor.

You can check your blood pressure by having a blood pressure monitor or can go fire station which offer free blood pressure check.

Observe any high blood pressure symptoms you experience, if you're diagnosed, make sure you take your medication as prescribed.
