I guess bottom line is that they need to make money and the gift cards are just a share of the pie.  Though this app already provide ways to earn extra coins...I have other apps but takes like two months to get one

Inflation... But then I think they heard our complaints to up some feature to earn coins. Like the lucky box is up from 3 to 6 with double up options sometimes.
