I have actually had this issue also... the way I figured it out was to go back in and reclick redeem card... and try it again... I know for me they all had the same number at 1 point but it sorted itself out... I hope this helps

Maybe going back into your rewards history and click on the card that you just redeemed and see if you can do it from there.

That's very disappointing! I haven't tried using it in Amazon yet. I tried Walmart gift card and for gas and I have yet to have troubles with it.

Are you using the right code?  I think it's the security code you put in.  I copy and paste it.
