A head scratcher

I just watched this video by two travel vloggers with over 300,000 subscribers. The the topic of the video was their experience going on their first cruise. During the video they harp on how much they did not like the experience. The thing that stunned me was the husband admitted that he didn't know until after he booked the cruise, that the cruise line he picked was rated the worst in the world. It wasn't like he embarked on this cruise to find out IF it was the worst in the world after reading that it was. He specifically did not research cruising before he booked. These people are obviously not unfamiliar with the value of online research before traveling. What am I missing? Is this a new YouTube trend to post travel vlogs of trips you've taken based on absolutely no preparation.

That's maybe their purpose. I am not sure😅.
  • I can't think of anything worse than a cruise for me personally I imagine it's crowded lots of queues and I can't swim lol.I guess you get to see a few different nice locations though.

Steve, I understand where you're coming from. Nobody likes crowds and queues.  We have taken nearly 20 cruises so far. Crowds and queues are not completely avoidable, but we have developed ways to optimize our experience and minimize our time in lines and crowds. The same is true of our land-based vacations.  As for swimming, there's  room for everyone on the life boats and everyone has a life jacket if the worse happens.
Interesting I must be missing out then if you've been on so many deffo must be a good experience then! I did once go to Amsterdam on an overnight journey, the weather was really bad though on the way there and kinda put me off trying again lol

I suppose 300,000 people just wanted to watch him making himself sound like an ass.

Possibly or maybe they had too high of expectations and obviously the cruise not meeting them.
Not that I've been on a cruise (on my bucket list), but me personally, I try to give place the benefit of the doubt, regardless of what a handful of people say. I can't say that i have ever been on a trip that was even a little bit disappointing or disastrous as i make it work one way or another. Not if there are too many, then obviously, I'll either approach cautiously or totally avoid. Now you said they were aware that that particular cruise was rated the worst. Evidently some research if no more than a couple of paragraphs to know this. Was it that they wanted to see for themselves, to so call out the cruise company (with the idea that if enough influencers say something, the company will improve or give perks to them? Such outings rarely works in the outer's favor), or just in it to get the views?

According to the vlogger, he booked the cruise without knowing it was rated the worst cruise line. I guess you're right that after he booked the cruise, he did a minuscule amount of research. If he or his wife had done anything other than the tiniest bit, they would have known what to expect and how to avoid disappointment, right? What's interesting to me  is what disappointed them were not things that that specific cruiseline had any control over. To be fair, he only complained about the experience but never blamed that cruise line.

Now he's making double the money that he spent on the cruise. And you are contributing to it by watching his "terrible cruise" 🤣
  • I've never heard of such a thing. I hope it's not turning into a trend!
  • Mujhe yhingss soo lam hai
