Apple Avoids Showing Pinched Fingers on iPad Mini Page in South Korea
MacRumors • • technology
Key Points:
- Apple's website displays the new iPad mini being held with pinched fingers in the U.S. and most countries, but the South Korean site shows the device without this gesture.
- The pinched-fingers image is also omitted on the South Korean site for the iPhone Air 2025, while it remains on the U.S. site.
- In South Korea, the pinched-fingers gesture or emoji is sometimes interpreted as mocking the size of men's genitals, leading to Apple's decision to remove it locally.
- Apple has not issued any official comment regarding the differences in imagery between regions.
