Watch Mike Love and Al Jardine Play Historic Beach Boys Shows

Key Points:

• On October 11, 2026, two simultaneous concerts featured different incarnations of the Beach Boys: Mike Love’s group at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and Al Jardine’s Pet Sounds Band at the Cerritos Center in California, marking a rare moment in the band's complex history.
• Mike Love, visibly frail due to undisclosed health issues, performed mostly background vocals at the Nashville show, with guests including Mickey Raphael and LoCash; the event raised speculation that it might be Love’s final performance with the band.
• At the Cerritos concert, Al Jardine was joined by original guitarist David Marks and former member Bruce Johnston, showcasing a reunion that surprised fans given longstanding tensions between Love and Jardine’s factions.
• Jardine’s group performed a full set including rare tracks like the entire 1977 album “The Beach Boys Love You” and the first live rendition of “It’s a Beautiful Day,” with special guest appearances by Marilyn Wilson, Dean Torrence, and Carnie Wilson.
• The future of the Beach Boys remains uncertain, with possibilities ranging from Love’s potential retirement to Jardine possibly leading a new iteration of the band, but both concerts were historic moments for fans and the band’s legacy.
