BGR • • technology
Key Points:
- The PlayStation 5 Pro is currently the most powerful console, featuring custom AMD hardware and advanced graphical enhancements like PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for improved visual clarity.
- The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU is the closest PC equivalent to the PS5 Pro's processor, delivering similar gaming performance and maintaining framerates above 60 FPS in most games, including Cyberpunk 2077.
- With ray tracing enabled, the Ryzen 5 5600X can sustain around 60 FPS, indicating that GPU choice has a larger impact on performance than the CPU in PS5 Pro-level gaming setups.
- Higher-end AMD CPUs such as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 7 7700X3D outperform the PS5 Pro, offering significantly higher framerates in demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Control Resonant.
- Given the PS5 Pro's price increase to $900, investing in a high-end PC CPU and equivalent GPU may provide better value and superior gaming performance for enthusiasts.
