If I want a salad as a main meal (kitchen sink): lettuce, to.atoe, cukes, green peppers, meat (turkey, ham, grilled salmon, tuna, pepperoni - any or combo), chopped bacon, if available: bean sprouts or any sprouts, snow peas or regular peas, shredded cheese, and either ranch or Cesaer dressing. 
Side or lighter salad would be the lettuce, tomatoes, green pepper, meat, cukes with the dressing. Hope that gives you some ideas.
