You need reset/reinstall the app.

Also, if you collect the coins from yesterday's steps, they will not be counted at the end. So, it is annoying.

I"m having the same problem. It continues to count steps and add them into the total. Yesterday I still received coins. Today I didn't. Nervous about reinstalling as I'm less than 100 coins away from my next reward.
