That is an interesting surprise!!
I purchased some eco sponges because I had 2 coupons I could stack together. I open a pack to use and was surprised that it was slightly damp. I opened the other 3 packs and they were the same. Strange. Paid under $2 for 12 sponges. Saved $9.56.

Maybe they were packed in a hot place and you opened them where it was cooler enough for there to be a condensation effect.
