I went to the rewards area, clicked on the gift card I wanted, got verified (per 6 digit code sent by text to my phone number - one you put in when you set up your account.), then clicked claim and got my gift card. Never had a problem. Maybe check the phone number associated with your account. I have noticed on other apps, mystery digits (extra or missing) can appear without you doing anything.
