Today is national fragile x awareness, penuche fudge, mango and hammock day. Fragile x syndrome is a mutation of the FMR1 gene and is the most common form of inherited intellectual disability. It affects men more than women and can cause ADD, ADHD, autism and anxiety among others. The day was created to bring awareness and to encourage the finding of a cure.
