Serious question. My 10 yr old is seriously overweight. How do i help him without giving him a complex about it?

Sport and healthy food. Not compulsory, like a fun. It is difficult with a kid, but sometimes you can do it.

It is a delicate subject. It's best not to talk about calories, restriction, etc directly.

    1. Be sure you are eating well and getting exercise yourself so you're a good role model.

    2. Find out what movement they enjoy and encourage them to do more of it. Do it with them even.

    3. Get them involved in growing, shopping for, and cooking their own food. Have them take charge of trying new healthy things. Let them take the lead and you encourage.

    4. Create a healthy environment at home. Keep unhealthy foods out of the house and keep a lot of fruits and veggies on hand instead.

    5. Be flexible. Don't prohibit any foods entirely. There's always a place for small amounts of fun foods, and during special occasions.

Get them to understand the choices they make when it comes to food and the difference between carbs, protein, fats and sugars.
You don't want to give them a complex but also they need to understand the choices they make and what that leads to. Also fitness. My daughter is 11 and she now comes to the gym with me in an evening at least 3 times a week. I had the same problem with her
