Japanese food unlike Korean food is not very spicy. (at least what I've tried without wasabi of course) it's good for children taste buds and is very yummy.

First off, no parent gives their child fully adult seasoned food immediately. Doesn't matter what country or culture. Just like you wouldn't give an 7 month old a steak with A1 or montreal steak seasoning on it. Yes, everyone's taste are different as you may like asparagus but your twin doesn't and you both grew up with it.
