Anybody knows what kind of berry is this?

I saw this berry trees around a gas station and i have no idea what it is. I saw a lot of birds eating it.

In Italy we call it Gelso. When the fruits are ready, we make wonderful jams with them.

They are mulberry . They are edible , the dark purple/black ones are sweeter .

I saw the same tree in the trail near my house.

I was going to say mulberry but I see others have already answered ... but yes 👍 & I think there is an app now that you can download and it will tell you the type of plant and fruit etc ... I haven't used it yet but I think it's cool if it works !
